NOTE: There is road construction on the Loami-Bates Road if you come by way of Curran.
Here are directions to avoid problems.Suggestion A: Go through Chatham. Starting at Exit 93 on I-72, go south on Veteran’s Parkway [Highway 4] approximately 5 miles into Chatham. Turn right [west] on Walnut Street across from the BP gas station [Walnut Street becomes County Hwy 5 or East Loami Road]. Take it into Loami and see additional directions below**.
Suggestion B: Go past Curran. Starting at Exit 91 on I-72, go south on Old 54 past Curran. Look for Farley road on your left. Go left [south] on Farley Road. Make a left [east] onto Irish road. Turn right [south] on Lead Line road until you reach Mansion road. Turn right [west] on Mansion Road and follow it til you get to Loami-Bates road. Turn left [south] on Loami-Bates Road which takes you into Loami. See additional directions below**.
** From either route, find you way out of bustling downtown Loami heading west onto West Loami Road [across from the gas station]. Turn left [south] on Rhea Park Road for a mile or so. The road to the Lefthanders range is on your left. The SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MPH going into the range.

We will have a Pistol / Revolver Side Match ahead of the Main Match.
The Side Matches are FREE of charge for registered shooters.Falling Plates Side Match

Requirements: 20 rounds pistol ammo [if you choose to try it twice]
Shoot 10″ Falling Plates at 10 yards with 10 rounds on the clock starting with hands on holstered revolver(s) or pistol.
NOTE: You DO NOT need heavy-duty loads to knock down these plates [“Gamer loads” should do it].
Shooting Categories for Falling Plates:
- Two-handed revolver
- Duelist revolver
- Gunfighter revolver
- One-handed [Traditional] 1911
- Two-handed [Modern] 1911
As usual, we’ll have “fabulous” prizes for winners in all categories.

Guns of August Regional Championship
Three members of the Long Nine Cowboys club trekked to Middletown, Ohio in early August for the Midwest Regional SASS Championship which was a great weekend of shooting.
We’re happy to report that we have a Regional Champion in our midst.
Our Match Director, Don Jorge, is the
2012 Senior Men’s Midwest Regional Champion
Two of his posse-mates also made it to the podium:
Wildcat Bob – 2nd Place Frontiersman in the Black Powder Match
Lady Viper – 2nd Place Lady 49er in Main Match

More Match Notes:
At Sunday’s Match, we’ll shoot 5 stages total.
Lunch is available for a small fee at the Club House [or free this time, if you’re a member or were at our June match]
We will be offering complimentary bottled water on ice for all registered shooters.
We’ll try to shoot 5 stages before breaking for lunch but if this is not possible, we’ll shoot 3 stages, break for lunch and shoot 2 more.
